Bows for sale |

We have found some German Bow makers to be exceptional value for players and we accordingly
try to keep examples of their work permanently in stock. Amongst
these are the work of the Nurnberger and Prager families, together with bows by Richard Weichold – the only German bow maker actually written about by William C. Retford in "Bows and Bowmakers" (published 1964) and, more recently, Franz Chalupetzky. |
A viola bow made by Arthur Bultitude, mounted in gold and tortoiseshell, and engraved
with the Tudor Rose. This was Bultitudes's two thousandth bow and engraved
"MM" on the ferrule. |

English |
Having a large on-site workshop, and a personal interest in English bow making, we
always have in stock an exceptionally good selection of fine English bows – centred around examples by the great 19th century bow maker James Tubbs and a wide selection of lovely bows made throughout the greater part of the twentieth
century in the workshops of W. E. Hill & Sons. There is also a good selection of bows made in the Ealing Strings Workshop, both silver and gold mounted, usually augmented by examples of current, often Hill trained, bow makers such as John Stagg, Malcolm Taylor, Brian Alvey. |
