Valuations and Certification |
Formed in 1966; Three of the four founding directors of Ealing Strings had
previously been employed for many years at W. E. Hill & Sons of London, a
firm and workshop that was a byword for quality and integrity in the world of
violins throughout much of the twentieth century. |
Ealing Strings has itself since developed into what is probably the largest workshop
in Europe, dedicated to the high-class making and restoration of violins, violas
'cellos and bows. The directors—Alan Mann and Richard Sadler—have decades
worth of experience handling and assessing fine instruments and bows.
The expertise of the directors is augmented by a number of long-serving skilled
personnel—six of whom have themselves been with Ealing Strings for approaching
twenty years or more. This gives , where required, a collective expertise
on the more difficult assessments or valuations unrivalled anywhere in the
world. One of the strengths of this firm and workshop is that it is not
dependent on the knowledge or skill of any single individual; there is an ever-present
interchange of knowledge and experience. |
